I Told You So...

The Apprentice finale was on last night and we didn't have any weather in outlying counties to prevent the broadcast. I knew a book smart woman would win. I was worried about my prediction as recently as two weeks ago. Tana seemed like a nice person up until that time, and also performed really well. Then all of a sudden she snatched defeat from the hands of victory. She totally blew the last task. I mean not having the American flag at an Olympic event, come on. She also was very negative towards here team, not very Tana like. I think Donald Trump said it best at the beginning of the show when he told her flat out she had an uphill battle.

The actual show was pretty much a waste of time. I mean did I really need to know what all those people thought. Tana also totally went overboard with the comment about it being her idea that the Pontiac brochure was round. Kendra had just given a great answer about why she didn't take full credit for the brochure in front of the Pontiac people, then Tana made a big deal about her "contribution." Of course she didn't mention that she went to sleep instead of finishing the brochure and left it to Kendra to do by her self.

I think the best person won. All in all it was just more of the same. The finale, even though shortened to an hour, was still a waste of time. There was no more real boardroom like the ad said last week. We just had everyone involved in the show (in a courtroom?) talk about what they would do, then the Donald did what everyone thought he would.

Revenge of the Sith

Ok, so last night I saw the new movie. It was pretty good. Definitely the best of the prequels, better than Return of the Jedi, not quite as good as Empire Strike Back.

This is the darkest movie in the series. I was struck by how sudden Vader’s transformation occurred. It happened very quickly. I also had a few problems with stuff just thrown in to link with the earlier trilogy. I will be happy to expand on that once some others have seen it. I don't want to ruin it for anyone. I would give it a 7.5/10. It wasn't the greatest movie ever and it certainly wasn't Episode 1. It was action packed and you did get a lot of big questions answered. The climax at the end was definitely all it was hyped up to be. All in all, I say go and see it.

By the way, for those of you who scoffed at me going to the midnight showing, I had plenty of entertainment. The guy behind us in line was in complete costume as Darth Vader. The news asked him to have a lightsaber duel with another guy dressed as a random Jedi. I got some pictures on my camera phone and once I figure out how, I will post them somewhere.

The Best Apprentice Ever???

Wow...what a night. I sit down at 7 p.m. for some must see television. I have been waiting for a good thirteen weeks to see who would win the Apprentice and tonight was also the Joey season finale. Joey was pretty good up until the last ten minutes. We had some "severe weather" around here for the past few weeks. It is tornado season. At the end of Joey when he and his neighbor are going up to his bed (to get it on?)...The weather guy comes on and starts talking about the weather. I think oh that sucks...I can't watch the last ten minutes of Joey. Not too big a deal, it was probably some clichéd finale anyway. But then at 8, I start thinking any time now the Apprentice finale will start. But wait, what is this, it is already fifteen minutes into the show and the weather guy hasn't stopped talking. Finally after watching the same doppler images for a good 35 minutes I realize, he isn't going to stop. They mention how some time in the future they will replay the episode. And I am left there thinking....What the hell just happened? Was it the best apprentice ever? Could be, I wouldn't know because I didn't get to see a minute of it.

UPDATE: Ok, I watched the episode on CNBC this weekend. It wasn't the best episode ever. It wasn't even the finale. It was just a continuation of the previous challenge between Tana and Kendra with a little bit of boardroom at the end. Basically Tana blew it (in a nutshell). The finale is this Thursday, as long as the weather holds.

Musings on the 9th day of May

I haven't written in a while. I would like to say I have been super busy and haven't had time, but I haven't. Truth is, not too much has been going on. I have decided to write down some things...

Just when you start to really like a certain article of clothing, it begins to fall apart.

Because we have fixed everything else in Texas, the house decided to "fix" cheerleading.

Not enough people use the exclamation "Syke!" anymore.

The BBC version of The Office is like 100000000 times better than the U.S. version. That being said the U.S. version is still one of the funniest shows on t.v. in the U.S.

The Beatles were a pretty damn good band.

Product placement during a t.v. show sucks (Donald Trump I am talking to you).

Rap/metal bands are just ridiculous.

HBO makes some great t.v.

The new Superman costume looks absolutely hilarious.

Movies should not have commercials before the feature.

Too many people have their sex tapes leaked onto the internet for it not to be on purpose.

If you can't afford a babysitter, you shouldn't go to see The Ring 2.

Everybody is working for the weekend.
